Convert HEIC to JPG

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) uses the HEVC codec to compress photos ~50% smaller than JPEG at the same quality. Apple adopted it as the default iPhone format starting with iOS 11 to save storage space.

Windows 10/11 can open HEIC if you install the HEVC codec extension ($0.99 in the Microsoft Store). Converting to JPG avoids this requirement entirely.

There is minor generation loss since both are lossy formats. At JPG quality 90-95%, the difference is imperceptible for photographs. HEIC already stores images very efficiently, so the visual result is excellent.
