Compress Image to 100KB
100KB is a common target for web images, profile pictures, and platform uploads. FastEdit's fit-to-size feature automatically compresses any image to exactly 100KB or less, no manual trial and error. Everything happens in your browser with no upload.
Steps
01
Open FastEdit
Go to app.fastedit.net. Runs in your browser, no install, no account.
02
Load your image
Drag and drop any image file. Supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, BMP, TIFF, and more. Nothing is uploaded.
03
Enable fit-to-size and set 100KB
Turn on fit-to-size and enter 100KB as your target. FastEdit automatically iterates to find the optimal quality level.
04
Select the best output format
For photos, WebP or JPEG produce the smallest files. WebP at 100KB looks noticeably better than JPEG at 100KB due to more efficient compression.
05
Preview and export
Check the side-by-side comparison, verify the file size, and export.
Benefits
- Automatic quality adjustment eliminates manual guessing, hitting exactly 100KB every time.
- Great for web images that need to balance quality and page load speed.
- At 100KB, a 1200x800 image looks sharp for blog posts and social media.
- Process multiple images to 100KB each for consistent web performance.
- No account or signup required, open and compress immediately.
Compression Tips
- At 100KB, a 1200x800 JPEG looks good for web use. WebP looks even better at the same size.
- Resize before compressing. A 1200px-wide image at 100KB looks better than a 4000px-wide image at 100KB.
- For web images, 100KB is a good target for above-the-fold content, fast enough for good Core Web Vitals while maintaining quality.
- Use progressive JPEG if outputting as JPEG. It loads better on the web and can be slightly smaller at the same quality.
