How to Batch Convert Images
This guide covers batch converting multiple files at once using FastEdit. Select multiple files, configure shared output settings, and export them all in one go, entirely in your browser. Batch runs one media type at a time.

Open FastEdit
Go to fastedit.net. No installation, no account, and no server upload cap.

Drop multiple files
Drag and drop multiple image or animation files onto the editor, or use the file picker to select several files. FastEdit accepts common formats including PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, PDF pages, MP4, and more.

Select the output format and shared settings
Choose your target format and configure quality, dimensions, and other settings. These settings apply to all files in the batch by default.

Override per-file settings if needed
If specific files need different settings (e.g., different dimensions or quality), you can override the shared settings on a per-file basis.

Export all
Click Export to process and download all files. Each file is converted with the configured settings.
Small things worth checking
- Batch one media type at a time: still images together, or animated/video files together.
- FastEdit accepts one PDF at a time. A multi-page PDF opens as a still-image batch, one item per page.
- Use shared format, quality, and dimension settings for the whole batch, then override individual files only when needed.
- Preview a representative photo, screenshot, and transparent asset before exporting a large mixed batch.
- Use PNG when sharp text or transparency matters, JPEG for compact photos, and WebP for modern web delivery.
- Avoid converting transparent images to JPEG unless you intentionally want the alpha channel replaced by a solid background.
- For size-limited destinations, use a target-size workflow instead of applying one arbitrary quality value to every file.
- Animated batches can benefit from lower frame rate and duplicate-frame removal when consecutive frames do not change.
- Use higher quality for hero assets, moderate quality for content images, and stronger compression for thumbnails instead of forcing one tier across every placement.
- After export, compare total input and output size, inspect representative files, and verify that every result meets its required dimensions and file limit.
- Batch processing runs entirely on your device, so speed and practical batch size depend on available memory, source dimensions, file type, and hardware.
- WebP is often the best target format for batch conversion: it supports both still and animated content with excellent compression.
