How to Convert AVIF to PNG
This guide shows you how to convert AVIF images to PNG format using FastEdit. AVIF is a modern image format that some software cannot open yet. PNG gives you a universally compatible, lossless output that preserves transparency.

Tips
- PNG output is lossless: you get the full decoded quality of the AVIF source, including any transparency.
- PNG files are larger than AVIF because PNG uses less efficient compression. This is the tradeoff for universal compatibility.
- If you do not need lossless output, consider converting to WebP or JPEG for smaller files.
- Batch convert multiple AVIF files at once by dropping them all onto FastEdit.
