02
Drop your PNG file
Drag and drop your PNG image onto the editor, or use batch mode to drop multiple files. Everything is processed locally.
03
Select WebP as the output format
Choose WebP from the output format menu. WebP supports both lossy and lossless compression.
04
Choose lossy or lossless
For web assets, lossy WebP at quality 80-90 gives the best size savings with no visible difference. Use lossless WebP if you need pixel-perfect output.
05
Export your WebP
Click Export to download. Your WebP file is ready for your website, CDN, or CMS.
Tips
- Lossy WebP at quality 80-85 is typically 60-70% smaller than the original PNG with no perceptible quality difference.
- Lossless WebP is still 25-35% smaller than PNG. Use it when pixel-perfect fidelity matters.
- WebP supports transparency (alpha channel), so it is a direct replacement for PNG in web contexts.
- Use batch mode to convert an entire assets folder in one operation.
- All modern browsers support WebP: Chrome, Firefox, Safari 14+, and Edge. The only holdout is IE, which is end-of-life.
