01
Open FastEdit
Go to fastedit.net and open the editor. No installation or sign-up required.
02
Drop your WebP file
Drag and drop your animated or static WebP file onto the editor. The file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
03
Select GIF as the output format
Choose GIF from the output format menu. If your WebP is animated, the animation is preserved in the GIF output.
04
Adjust color palette and dithering
GIF is limited to 256 colors per frame. Use the color palette setting to optimize colors and enable dithering to smooth gradients and reduce banding.
05
Export your GIF
Preview the result using side-by-side compare, then click Export to download.
Tips
- GIF is limited to 256 colors, so photos and gradients may show banding. Dithering helps reduce this.
- If you do not need GIF specifically, consider keeping WebP: it produces smaller files with better quality.
- Reduce the frame rate to lower file size. Many animations look fine at 10-15 fps instead of the original rate.
- Use fit-to-size to ensure your GIF meets a specific file size limit.
