How to Resize an Image Online
Walkthrough
- 01
Open FastEdit
Go to fastedit.net. The editor runs in any modern browser with no installation.
- 02
Drop your image
Drag and drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, SVG, TIFF, BMP, or other supported image file.
- 03
Set the new dimensions
Enter the target width and height, or choose a preset. Keep aspect ratio locked unless you intentionally need a different shape.
- 04
Choose output format and quality
Keep the same format or convert while resizing. For web use, WebP or JPEG at quality 75-85 usually gives a small file with good quality.
- 05
Preview and export
Check the resized preview, then click Export. The resized file downloads directly to your device.
Small things worth checking
- Resize to the actual display size. A 4000px photo shown in an 800px container wastes bandwidth.
- Keep aspect ratio locked to avoid stretched faces, logos, and product photos.
- Use PNG or lossless WebP for screenshots and graphics with sharp text. Use JPEG or lossy WebP for photos.
- Batch resize multiple images when preparing a gallery, product catalog, or website asset folder.
