Tips
- Discord emojis with transparency need PNG, GIF, or WebP format: JPEG does not support alpha channels.
- Animated emoji and stickers count toward separate server limits: 50 static + 50 animated emoji by default, increasing with boosts.
- Keep critical content in the center 70% of avatars and server icons: Discord crops them to circles.
- Use WebP over PNG for stickers to hit the 512 KB limit more easily without losing quality.
- Server banners look best at 16:9 aspect ratio with low-contrast artwork that does not compete with the channel list text.
- For videos over 10 MB, compress with FastEdit using H.264 at a lower bitrate, Discord will re-encode anyway, so optimize for file size over quality.
