Open Graph Image Sizes & Presets

The recommended Open Graph image size is 1200x630 pixels (1.91:1 aspect ratio). This is supported by Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, and most platforms that read OG meta tags. Meta allows shared images up to 8 MB; smaller compressed files usually load and cache faster.

FastEdit uses 1200x675 pixels for the X/Twitter Card preset. If no twitter:image tag is specified, platforms may fall back to the og:image tag. Minimum summary-large-image dimensions are much smaller, but 1200px-wide assets are safer for quality.

Not necessarily. If you only provide og:image, most platforms including X/Twitter may use it. However, providing separate images optimized for each crop gives the best results.

Here's how: Add a meta tag in your HTML head: <meta property="og:image" content="https://yoursite.com/og-image.jpg">. Also include og:image:width and og:image:height tags. For Twitter, add <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">.

Common causes: the og:image URL is relative instead of absolute, the image is too large, the server blocks crawlers, or the platform cache shows an old version. Use the platform's debugging tool to clear the cache and diagnose issues.
