Facebook Image Sizes & Presets
Facebook uses different image dimensions across posts, cover photos, profile pictures, and stories. The recommended post image size is 1200x630, which also serves as the default Open Graph preview when your content is shared. Cover photos display at 820x312 on desktop and 640x360 on mobile, making responsive design important. FastEdit ensures every image is perfectly sized for Facebook.

Profile page banner. Displays at 820x312 on desktop and 640x360 on mobile. Keep critical content in the center to account for both crops.
Story
1080x1920 JPEG / PNG Max 30 MB
Full-screen vertical story image. 9:16 aspect ratio. Avoid placing text in the top and bottom 15% where UI elements overlay.
Video Post
1920x1080 MP4 (H.264) Max 10 GB
Facebook feed video. Landscape (16:9) or square (1:1). Maximum 240 minutes. H.264 video with AAC audio. Facebook re-encodes all uploads.
Tips
- Facebook converts PNGs larger than 1 MB to JPEG: use JPEG from the start for photos to control compression quality.
- Cover photos display at different crops on desktop (820x312) and mobile (640x360): keep important content centered.
- Post images at 1200x630 double as Open Graph images when the post URL is shared externally.
- Profile photos display as circles: avoid placing important content near corners and edges.
- Story safe zones exclude the top 14% (status bar, profile info) and bottom 20% (reply bar) of the 1080x1920 canvas.
