How to Convert AVIF to JPG
AVIF is efficient and modern, but some apps and upload forms still expect JPG. FastEdit converts AVIF to JPG directly in your browser, so the file never leaves your device and you get a standard JPEG that works almost everywhere.

- 01
Open FastEdit
Go to fastedit.net. No installation, account, or plugin is required.
- 02
Drop your AVIF image
Drag and drop the AVIF file onto the editor. FastEdit decodes it locally in your browser.
- 03
Select JPEG as the output format
Choose JPEG/JPG from the output format menu. This creates a universally compatible photo file.
- 04
Set the quality level
Use 85-92 for most photos. This keeps the JPG visually close to the AVIF while avoiding unnecessary file size.
- 05
Export your JPG
Click Export to download the converted file. The conversion happens on your device, not on a server.
Small things worth checking
- Use JPG for photos and complex images when compatibility matters more than transparency or lossless quality.
- If your AVIF has transparency, convert to PNG instead. JPEG does not support an alpha channel.
- Set quality around 90 for sharing or printing. Lower values reduce size but can introduce visible compression artifacts.
- Batch convert multiple AVIF files by dropping them together and applying the same JPEG settings.
